Geriatric Problems

Psychiatric Consultation for Geriatric Problems

Individuals above 60 years of age comprise the geriatric population. Because of the natural process of ageing, these individuals are vulnerable to develop certain mental health problems at this age.

Some individuals have trouble making new memories as they grow older. Some people complain of forgetfulness and memory issues. They are also prone to develop psychological problems due to reduced stamina, loneliness, deteriorating physical health, reduced sensory abilities and boredom.   It is prudent to include the senior citizens in regular mental health checkups to pick up any not so obvious changes in their cognitive and emotional health.
